Juniors Battle Off 2nd Round 1 (Continued from page 8) BvP ne Travel ro Teams rEW YORK, June 12.-P)-Fred Mandel not only thinks post-war pro football teams will travel by air; he thinks they'll travel in their own plane. The. sponsor of this flighty idea is owner and president of the Detroit Lions of the National league, and until re cently he also was publicity direc tor of the club. He thought the publicity Job was too much on top of his other duties, so he finally resigned. - ' Anyway, - although It took' him seven months to reach that mo mentous decision, he solved the travel difficulties of the league after the war ip two minutes flat, fair time for the half-mile. "The league will buy one of the army's big C-47 air transports," he predicted; "It will hire a pilot a co-pilot, steward and two main-H tenance men on a full time basis and haul the clubs on all the trips. One of thos, big ships can fly the longest jump in the league in four hours and the way our schedule is arranged it will be no trick at all to transport five teams on round trips every weekend."
