Grain Market Slow, Steady f : CHICAGO, April iHffV -An expansion of wheat flour sales to Cuba and rain over parts of the grain belt, further delaying seed ing of oats and corn, produced a steady market in all grain futures today. Activity was restricted as traders awaited a government re port on winter wheat production and form stock of feed grains. . Bookings of wheat flour to Cu ba for April, May and June ship ment were placed by trade author ities at between 700,000 and 800, 000 sacks of 100 pounds. The sales resulted from a boost of 20 cents in the export subsidy on April 8. The subsidy now is $1.45 a hund red pounds, effective until May 1. At the close wheat was un changed to Va higher, July 1.71T, oats were unchanged to higher, July 79, and rye was high er, May $1.31-. May barley was bid at $1.28, the ceiling, throughout the session. Rains were reported in south western Kansas, where they were needed. They were expected to cause further improvement in the winter wheat outlook. After the close, the government estimated production r of winter ; wheat at 601,759,000 bushels, which . was above its ' December 1 forecast of 28,957,000 bushels and also high er than "trade forecasts. Stocks Draw Timid Demand NEW YORK,' April 10 -iJPf-Slack buying centered on , rails and assorted industrials in today's stock market while many leaders were unable to attract worth while support. Timid demand apparently was based on actual and prospective earnings, cheering Russian war news and a further revival of do mestic political hopes. Trends turned somewhat shaky after a steady and rather active start Sinclair Oil, with a pleasing income summary, came out - in blocks of 1000 i to. 10,000 shares, up a shade at a 1944 peak. It lat er subsided and finished all even at 12 Gains and losses of frac tions were pretty well divided at the close.
