OUARA ; t NEW YORK, March ll-m- The stock market today closed the books on the best week since last March with rails, liquors, rubbers and,' specialties ; continuing: to forge ahead for gains of fractions to more than 2 points, many to peak levels for eight months. .- The list had only one losing pe riod during the week and that was Thursday when the rally was stemmed by mild profit cashing. From Monday on the revival of Investment demand, based mainly on earnings, -dividends; and grow ing optimism . over the domestic political picture, gave blue chips and pivotals a buoyant move.' Today's start was on the up-"- side and, with activity expanding substantially, favorites held at or around their highest at the fin ish. Steels and motors took a rest The Associated Press 60-stock average was up .3 of a point at 82.7, a high mark since last July 24, and on the week showed a net Jump of 1.4 points, broadest 6 day recovery since March a year ago. Transfers : of 680,320 shares compared with 332,440 a week ago nd were the largest two-hour aggregate since September 8. The week's dealings of 8,412,618 shares also registered a top since July.
