C Leth Warns DALLAS Peach leaf curl con trol should be considered shortly by peach growers W. C. Leth, Polk couty agent reminds orchard own ers. This disease can usually be satisfactorily eliminated and pre vented by an application of 6-6-60 Bordeaux mixture spray applied about the end of November or in December preferably. This spray should be home prepared if pos sible and applied the same day it is made. Trees should be dry for a period of. several hours the day the spraying is done in order that the spray material may become well dried and so that the trees also may be thoroughly covered. i Four booklets are available through the Polk county agent's office that are helpful in this con nection and which peach growers should have on hand. COLUMBUS, 0.-JPt-A man in central Ohio identified only as a railroad fireman wants to find a pair of shoes, size 15 D. He appealed to US Judge Mell G. Underwood today, and the judge passed the plea along to re porters. "That man," the judge said the letter informed him, "says he's tried everywhere to find shoes that big, even army quartermas ter depots. But the army says they can't sell to a civilian." Unless shoes are found, the judge said, that man might be forced to stay home and a railroad be forced to find a new fireman. DRESSED Veal and Hogs Wanted!: Top Prices Paid!
