Palmers Attend Event GRAND ISLAND Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Palmer and family attended a birthday dinner com plimenting Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. Fred Radiev whose birthdays were September 19 and 29 Sunday at the Radie home. The huckleberries are in very fine condition,. they revealed.. Russells Visit At Stacey Home i LIBERTY Mr. and Mrs. Ted Russell and three children from Klamath Falls visited Tuesday at the C W. Stacey home. Mr. Rus sell, who lias joined the Seabees, left his family with his wife's mo ther, Mrs. Winifred Russell, on the Stacey mink farm and has gone to join his outfit. Mrs. Rus sell will, remain here until she finds a house. She is Mrs. Sta cey's sister. Ted Russell has been on the teaching staff of the Kla math Falls high school for several years. Miss Prise ilia Pierre arrived during the weekend from Olympia and visited her. uncle, and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Holder. Monday she entered as a sopho more at. the Salem high school. She will live with her aunt. Miss Edna Holder, who has taken an apartment in Salem. Priscilla Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pierre, formerly of Liberty. Miss Edna Holder has been on a speaking tour for the Methodist Missionary society in Oregon and Washington. She Will continue her post - graduate work at Willam ette university when the fall term starts November 1. Mrs. Holland and daughter Betty, are employed in Salem and Ed will continue as carrier on Sdo rural route one. - Hunters Seek "Pointless" Meat In Game Areas - SILVERTON That there should be some pointless meat in the lockers at Silverton was the concensus of opinion by the wom en here late Thursday afternoon. Scores of men left Wednesday night and Thursday for deer hunting locations. Many went to eastern Oregon while others left late Thursday night or were planning on leav ing early Friday morning for nearer locations to the east of Silverton.
