schools win open September 20, a
week later than usual, under con
' ditions promising a successful ac
ademic year, in the opinion of the
local board of education. E.- G.
Rickard, who has instructed in
high school at Lebanon during the
last two years, will be - principal
here and will be assisted by three
other instructors.
The grades also win have four
teachers. The school plant has
been improved, during .the 1943
intermission in the matter of a
heating system, and a new com
position roof i s being placed on
the gymnasium. Frank Sommer
again is custodian of the buildings
and . grounds, . having been re
elected last spring.

director chairman and K. J. Pur
dy and W. H. Dennison. are the

Saturday, morning and pickers

the vines. They have had as much

There is a small yard known as
" the Swartz ranch, which was not
' taken care of this year, but has
