A report that the government "might subsitute sugar for grain -In the manufacture of industrial alcohol attracted come attention - at the opening but failed to have much influence as a price factor. Another overnight, development, the announcement of a ceiling on live hogs at the $14.75 level, like wise had little effect market wise. . - - - ;. . At the finish wheat was V cent lower to V cent higher than the previous close,.1 July - $1.44, Sep- tember $1.44 -; rye was off to Y up, July $1.05 , September $1.05 ; and oats" were unchang ed to 4 dowH, July 89 - 9. Crop comments continued favorable but certain sections of the Canadian northwest were in urgent need of moisture. The Winnipeg market closed weaker due largely to lack of support. : Baby Food Allotment Is Increased WASHINGTON, July 20 About 7,000,000 additional cases of canned baby foods, condensed milk and other milk products and certain canned vegetables and fruits will become available for civilians under a revision of tin plate quotas announced Monday by the war production board. The increased packs, however, will be offset by short crops of peaches, apricots, cherries "and some other fruits, and will not in crease the total 1943 supply of canned goods for civilians.
