Many people made quick work of reach .ing .their, cars and went to other places for the election of their of f icers ' and their unfinished busi- . - At the eighth annual reunion of 'the Jacob Kloetsch dan,' one of those meeting Sunday at the Sil- vfa verton" city park, Fritz .Doerfler of Salem was elected as head of the group, when the business ses sion, adjourned to the grandstand of the park. 'Other officers -elected were vice-president,' Frank t Doerfler, - Salem, .and , secretary-treasurer, Mrs. Ray Fox of Portland.' The place of meeting next year , will be at the Silverton park. . From . the historian. Miss Del- lora Doerfler, Silverton, was learned that Jacob Kloetsch was '" born in Germany November 21, 1835. He died at Stayton, Oregon, February 18, 1916. He came to the United States at the -age -of 17 years, settling first in Wiscon 'son and " coming to the Stayton community in 1874. ' To Mr. Kloetsch and his first . wife, Theresa Heater, were born Katherine Kloetsch-Titze, Michael Kloetsch, Mary Kloetsch-Doerf-ler, Pauline ' Kloetsch-Axsorn Therese Kloetsch-Ritzinzer, and -John Kloetsch. A second marriage was to Mina Kimmen, - whose daughter, Arna Kirnmcn, was . raised as a step-daughter.: All .'children of Jacob Kloetsch are living excepting' Katherine Titze. Trinity Ladies' Aid Society Observes Golden Anniversary - SILVERTON "With six members more than 80 years of age, Trinity Ladies' Aid society observed its 50th anniversary Sunday at an all day meeting at Trinity church. The six older members, five of whom were present, were Mrs. A. O. Legard, 91; Mrs. E. Jacobsen, 88; Mrs. Anna K. Jensen, 83; Mrs. O. S. Hauge, 82 arid Mrs. M. J. Madsen, 80. Mrs. C L Benson, who is 85 was. unable to be present. . Mrs. B.' Storlie was the only charter member present and she was presented with a plaque. Mrs. Anna : K. Jensen, first president; and Mrs. M. J. Madsen, first sec retary were each presented with life memberships in the Women's Missionary Federation and spoke briefly, at the acceptance. Mrs. Walter C. ANGEL Funeral services for-Sister Francis .Xavier RIegert, of the Benedictine convent at Mt Angel were held Monday morning at. the convent chapel with Rev. Bede Rose officiating. Interment was In the private convent" ceme tery. ;;- " Sister Xavier was born April 20, 1868 in Gerfau, Switzerland, and came to ML Angel with the first contingent of Benedictines in 1884. She made her religious pro-' fession on December 3, 1890 and celebrated her golden jubilee In 1940. ' All her religious life except the last seven years was spent in teaching in the Benedictine schools at Portland, Oregon City and Mt AngeL She died quite suddenly. Thursday night after suffering a stroke. Her only relatives are a niece, Mrs. .Anna Bruener of Petaluma, Calif.; two, cousins,. Sr. M. Co cilia ; and Sr. Marcelline in the Benedictine convent at Yankton, N.
