SOCIETY music IWC IlVi.JiJ II Ceremony In Albany ' , Interests At a candlelight ceremony in , "the St. Peter Episcopal church in Albany on January 29, Miss Jeanne Anne Edwards, daugh . terter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ed wards of Albany, became' the fcride of Mr. Wayne E. Coffee, on of Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Coffee. Rev. Orville F. Mick of ficiated. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. She wore a white satin gown made on tradi tional princess lines with full . train and long, lace edged veil. On her head she wore a Juliet cap of seed pearls. Her bouquet "was of white carnations. Miss i Margaret Davis of Coquille, wearing a pink dress made sim- ilar to the bride's, and carrying pink carnations, was maid of honor. Murray Adams acted as best man and Allen Edwards, jr., Richard Reid and Roger Reid as ushers. Miss Joyce Coffee lit the ta pers, Miss Betty Cooper of Sa lem sang and Mrs. Fred Braley played the wedding music. At the reception which fol lowed the wedding. Miss Delia Edwards of Albany poured, and Miss Bernadine Milne of Port land cut the ices. They are aunts of the bride. Miss Joyce Coffee cut the cake, Miss June Ridout and Miss Helen Zink served. Guests from Salem who at tended the wedding are Mr. and Mrs. Batty Cooper, Miss Betty Cooper, Mrs. Gladys Edwards, Miss Cleda Mae Edwards, Mrs. W. R. Edwards, and Billy jr., and Miss Helen Zink. The young couple will be at home in Eugene, where both are students at Uni versity of Oregon. Mrs. Coffee is formerly of Salem, having at tended grade and junior high schools here previous to moving with her parents to Albany. V-Garden Center to Open A committee of women from the Victory Garden committee with representatives from the various garden clubs of Salem met at the chamber of commerce on Friday afternoon and made arrangements to have a victory garden center open to the public several days during the week. The C. S. Hamilton Furniture company has offered a window in their store for displays of garden equipment, bulletins and informative material on vege table gardening. Miss Edith Schryver presided at the meet ing on Friday. The Garden Center will be Preferential Dinners : -Tonight ; Preferential dinners tonight at the sororities houses at Wil lamette university mark the end of rush . week on the campus. Special guests for the evening wilT" be new pledges ol the' houses. Pledge services Sunday morning ; will be followed by breakfast and church attendance. Traditional red and white will be featured at the Alpha Phi Al pha preferential dinner, where Dean Olive M. Dahl, Mrs. Robert Taylor and Mrs. Leif Bergsvick will be special guests. Pledges to be honored are the" Misses Marjorie Wallin, Corrine Car penter, Shirley McCollum, Mar garet Herd, LaVonne Bain, Wil ma Froman," Betty Weinert, Dor othy kenny and Marian McMil lan. In general charge is Miss Ruth Burgoyne, assisted by the Misses Laura Jean Bates, Pat Carter, Thyra Jean Currey and Betty Jean Tucker. Vocal selec tions by Mr. Millard Leslie and a talk by Dean Dahl will be in cluded on the program. Misses Marianne Lowe, and Olive Tor bet are arranging for the dance to follow. Alpha Psi Delta fra ternity pledges will serve. Beta Chi sorority will decorate with the Valentine theme when they honor their new pledges, the Misses Ruth Doerr, Alice Jones, Mirian Oakes and Mabel Fox. Featured entertainment will be vocal selections by Miss Myrtle Meier. Miss Mary Jean Huston is in charge of the din ner and her committees include the Misses Jean Webb-Bowen, ( Susanna Schramm, Ruth Finney, Betty Andrews, Olene Melhoff and Janet Woods. Sigma Tau 1 fraternity pledges will serve. The group will return from the Willamette-Whitman basket ball game to a fireside at the chapter house for members and new pledges. Miss Eleanor Todd is in charge of the banquet at the Delta Phi chapter house, where decorations will be in traditional silver and white. Pledges to be honored are the Misses Marjorie Penman, Barbara Peetz, Barbara Belt, Virginia Irmwin, Opal Scheuer man, Lorraine Nelson and Mary Hougendoubler. Miss Lorena Jack will be a special guest and Miss Dorothy Estes will sing. Serving on the committees are the Misses Helen Zimmerman, Peggy Byrd, Ella Rose Mason, Bette Burkhart and Jean Fries, Catherine Thomas arid Louise Stuyts. Valentine decorations were used for the party. Two hearts bearing the names Frances and Don were hung from the mantel.
