" "Reap the Wild Wind" is a tale told ot America's fight to rid the Florida Keys of piratical wreck ers who preyed on the lifeline of windjammer merchant marine in the 1840's. DeMUle's 65th picture under the Paramount banner, the present truly great film need make no" obeisance to any of its predecessors. It outstrips them all for conception, photography and story. .It's drama any way you look at it. In the supporting cast, Ray mond Massey plays the heavy villain. King Cutler, chief of the wreckers. Childish Plot Causes Mischief Weaving its delightful story around the efforts of a newspaper man to write the' great American novel and at the same time carry the torch for a beautiful secre tary, "Obliging Young Lady" fea tures little Joan Carroll, Idmond O'Brien and Ruth Warrick. Bristling with gayety and breezy dialogue, the amusing; story un folds principally at a picturesque mountain hotel where the pretty secretary of a prominent attorney is staying .with the 9-year-old daughter of wealthy parents who are battling over her custody in -the courts.-Also to the hotel comes Red Reddy, an ace reporter who! has quit his job to write a novel. This is their second girl Mr. and Mrs. Smith live at Maple ton where he teacher but are in Monmouth this summer" while he works on the cantonment Young Philip Newman of Eu gene who spent the past-two weeks with his uncle, SanvSuver, returned to his home last week when his mother, Mrs. L. Newman and ' his grandmother came after him.- Mr; and Mrs. Earl 'Anderson moved most of their things to their place in Carlton Tuesday. Mrs. Eunice McClain and son Bob are living with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Suver during harvest and Bob is harvesting the crop. The Mcuaina moved out of the Wells area recently after the govern' ment bought their farm and crop. Mr. Suver Is still on crutches while recovering from a broken leg. and complications. Mrs. Douglas Dodele, Miss Ger- aldine Dodele and Mrs. AUeen Donovon and baby son of Vallejo, Calif, who visited relatives here for two weeks, returned hame Fri day. CaUfornia Folk Visit in Marion MARION Mr. and Mrs. D. B Gray and two children. Warren and Donna, were recent guests of tteir parents, Mr. and Mrs. War ren Gray. They also visited rela tives at Lebanon and Jefferson. A family picnic dinner honorina them was held on the lawn at the home of their parents Sunday, They left Thursday for their home in California.
