PAGE SEC Subscription . Club Dinner Tonight! Subscription club members will entertain with a Valentine -dinner dance tonight in fh Mir ror Room of the Marion hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Loder head the decorating committee and assisting are Mr. and Mrs. ' Karl Becke, Mr. Leo Spitzbart, Mr. and Mrs. William Scandling, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Herrall and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Berry. The table wil be festive with red hearts, cupids, pussywillows and candles.' Valentine hearts will be arranged on the mirrors and walls. Out-of-town guests expected for the "dance are Mr. and Mrs. John J. Elliott and Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Macdonald of Portland, former Salem folk, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Sox of Albany and Mr. and Mrs. John Douglas of Port land, who will be the guests of Senator and Mrs. Ronald Jones. V Century Ball at Armory Tonight Several hundred Willamette university students, alumni and guests will attend the Senior Century ball tonight in the ar mory. The dancing hours are fiwn n-AH in 11:45 o'clock and Chuck Regon's orchestra will play. The centennial theme will be carried out in the decorations and clever plaid programs will be given the guests. The Century Girl, Miss Nancy Austin, will arrive at 9:30 o'clock and will be announced. At 9:45 there will be a half hour broad cast over KSLM with Gene Se vellier announcing and describ ing the grand march which will begin at 10:10. Speaking briefly over the ra dio will be Lt Col. Elmer V. Wooton, official representative for Governor Charles A. Sprague, the Century Girl, Pres ident Carl Sumner Knopf, Mr. Ralph May, student body presi dent, and student body presi dents, who will be on the cam pus for the day. . The grand march will be led by Lt. Col. Wooton and the Cen tury Girl, Mr. Robert Lee, Mrs. Wooton, Dr. Knopf, Miss Mardel Webb, Mr. Ralph May and Mrs. Knopf. OAK POINT Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Crowley of Los Angeles, Calif., are visiting Mrs. Crow ley's mother, Mrs. Hattie J. Black this week. Mr. Crowley is employed in the Vega Airplane factory in Los Angeles. Mrs. Black will go back with them, leaving Saturday and while there visit her son, Lt and Mrs. Kenneth H. Black, who are on the California coast. S. Parnell of Salem, and Mr. Lansing Bulgin of Long Beach, Calif., were married Fri day night at 8 o'clock at Long Beach. The bride is a graduate of Sa lem schools with one year at Seattle Pacific college and four years at Cascade college, Port land. The groom is a graduate of Cascade college and is now at tending Whittier college at Whit tier, Calif. They will make their home in Whittier. Fergusons Are Hosts Friday Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Ferguson were hosts for a Valentine party Friday night at their home on Columbia street. Games and dancing were enjoyed with re freshments served at a late hour. A red and white color scheme was carried out in the decora tions with crepe paper stream ers extending from the chande lier to each place on the table. Red and white hearts were ar ranged about the room. Guests of the Fergusons were ,Mr. and Mrs. Nick Herrall of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Da vis, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Hard ing and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hol lis. The Friendly Fifty class of the Jason Lee church entertained with a party Thursday at the church parlors. Thirty were present. A musical program was presented by Peggy Frant, ac cordian, and Nevitt Smith, piano. The patriotic theme was carried out in the decorations and re freshments were served.
