"N.--i", Polk Women Gather Today to Mobilize for Federal Defense WEST SALEM Mrs. Sadie Orr Dunbar, chairman of the Ore gon Board of the Mobilization of Women for National Defense, is calling a meeting in Dallas at the chamber of commerce today at 2 o'clock. The purpose is to effect a county organization. She is anxious that every women's or- - ganization in Polk count;- send at least one representative. These organizations include fra ternal and church groups, garden clubs, service and professional or ganizations, auxiliaries, parent- teacher associations, women. Willamette Valley Briefs and grange Mrs. J. M. Fisher underwent a major operation at the Salem Gen era! Hospital Tuesday. Her con dition is reported satisfactory. WOODBURN Funeral services for George Riley Dickenson, 67, who died at his home at Wood- burn Thursday, are to be held Sunday at Ringo chapel, Wood burn, at 2:30 p.m. Mrs. June Wilmber Lamb, Salem, will be reader. Interment is to be at Belle Passi cemetery, Woodburn. Dickenson was born in South Dakota and came from Nebraska to Oregon in 1899. He had lived in Woodburn for 25 years.
