MAXINE BURJSN Editor Couple Will Live in East New York City will be the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Wil bur James Tripp. They were ' married at a quiet ceremony Sunday afternoon at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Del J. Tripp, The bride Is the former Amelia Phillips, daughter of Mrs. Amelia Phil lips of New York City. . " Rev. ' v A brown silk crepe afternoon frock with beige trimming was chosen by the bride for her wed ding. Her corsage was of talis man roses. Miss Rachel Tripp was ' the honor attendant and her gown was of aquamarine blue. She wore a corsage of yellow roses. ' Mr. Sam Tripp was his broth er's best man. , A reception for" members of the family was held after the ceremony. After a trip along the Oregon coast the couple will leave on Wednesday for New York whero Mr. Tripp is an electrician with the United States navy. Mr. Tripp has been home on a leave and his bride came west last week. Party Honors Mrs. Potter Mrs. Ora E. Potter was honor ed at her 79th birthday Saturday afternoon when a group of her friends entertained at her home. The affair was also a house warming as Mrs. Potter has re cently moved into her new resi dence on South 12th street. A shower honored Mrs. Potter and a birthday cake centered the . tea table. He attended Seattle Pad-" . fic college.- Concert Series Is 'Listed ,The Salem high school Cres cendo club has announced its winter series of concerts, under the managership of Mary Eliza beth Sisson. Reid Shelton is president of the club, Miss Lena Belle Tartar is edvisor. The Devi Dja Bali, Javanese dancers, will appear in recital on Saturday, November 8 at 8:30 o'clock. The Linfield a cappella choir will again be in concert on Sunday afternoon, December 14. Francis Aranyi, violinist has been engaged, to appear at 8:30 on Thursday, January 15, and Lucile Curnmings, contralto, will sing on Thursday, March 8, at 8:30 o'clock. This Is the Crescendo club's 8th year of concerts. Season tickets are on sale by members of the club. The Java dancers are a nation ally known troup, considered un usually fine. The final artist to appear in the series is Miss Lucile Cum ings, a former Salem girl and daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Arthur Cumings. She is a former pupil of Miss Tartar and is now on the staff of NBC and also is soloist for the First Science church in San Francisco.
