Rev. Melvin Traxler of the Stayton Church of Christ and Rev. W. H. Lyman, Salem, officiated. Interment was in the Lone Oak cemetery. ; Helen Crosier was born at Ben nington Vt, Feb. 18, 1859. She moved to Nebraska when a young woman and married Nelson Wil liam Paxton at St. PauL Nebraska, in 1881. To them were born six children, of whom five survive: Clyde, Stanton, Mich, Mrs. Vera Leach, Toledo, Wash.; Forest Pax- ton and Mrs. Hazel Hughes, Seattle, Lubin Paxton, New York City. Nelson Willi;im Paxton died in 1925, and1 in 1932 she married Ira B. Carter at Salem. They have made their home in Stayton for eight years. She is also survived by the widower and his children, William H. Carter, Mehama, Frank I., Stayton, Edith Geer, Hermiston, Clifford C., and Belle Heater, Sublimity, Sylvia Gupton, North Hollywood, Calif; 12 grandchildren, 10 great grand children, and a sister, - .
