The last number consisted of - moving pictures of world events of 1940 and two films of local scenes, shown by Alois Kebet, local men tion picture camera enthusiast. At the auxiliary business session a report . on the Marion county council, held at Silverton Felirvi ary 14, was given. It was noted that the council advocated a con test on: the flag. code. The unit de cided to take the matter up with the teachers of the local grade school to see if a contest would be advisable. Announcement was made that Mrs ilerton White, wife of a past commander of the Mt. Angel post, - had donated a silver platter to the unit to use as it saw fit. . The; auxiliary quilt, the blocks for which were .donated by Mrs. Theresa Uselaman, has been com ' pletedj and will be awarded to the winnejr at the Legion dance Fri day night, February 21. MOLALLA With reference to the Collins-Ostrander Logging company strike, a delegation from the Molalla CIO union met at Portland Wednesday with a com mittee of Columbia bain loggers at which time Collins and the union each presented its side of the dispute, now in its second week here. - After conference the employers' committee made a proposition to the delegation from the Molalla union of .03 and .06 per thousand board feet in addition to what the men have been receiving and withdrew the former offer of ,02 and .04 and the .04 and .03 offer. -Also - Collins -' company agreed to put in a new. company repre sentative who. would check the scaling of the logs and if, In the opinion of the representative, the work ; Is ; impracticable . at the scale price, then the men would be put on a wage for that particu lar piece or section, these wages to be $8.80 or $7.00 per day, union scale. These propositions will be voted upon Friday night at a union meeting called here at that time.
