Clarence Whalen Cynthiana, Ky., song leader and soloist, will conduct an evangelist ic campaign starting Sunday, Jan uary 5 to 19, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance church; corner of Fifth and Gaines street. Rev. Parker Is said to be one of the most earnest and eloquent speakers In- the evangelistie field in America. Services will be held every night at 7:30. The pastor, H. E. Mrs. Velma Meggers Mischke, in a missionary address, her last scheduled public address before leaving for Africa next week. Mrs. Mischke is the daughter Of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Meggers ot 925 Union street, where she and her husband, Carl and son Rich ard, have been spending' the hol idays before returning to Africa, i - Rev. and Mrs. Carl Mischke have spent a term of years as mls slonaries of the Church of the Naz arene in Swazliland, South Africa, and for the last year have been in the homeland on furlough and in deputation work. They .have been successful in their work as mis sionaries and are eager to return to minister to the native people. Their son Richard, age 10, will return with them. In the Sunday service Rev. Carl Mischke will speak In the Zulu language and Mrs. Mischke will Interpret, Both Mr. and Mrs. Mischke sing well and will favor the congregation with several special songs.. On their return trip to America they had to make a circuitous route to Argentina and every night along the way they experienced a complete blackout on ship.
