New report forms, designed to
Ilnlnat j mistakes' in accounting
in Mar! on county's seven justice
courts, were received yesterday
from the Comity Treasurer Law
rence A. Rich. .
t Prepared by Ricn in response
to a need pointed out recently by
state auditors, the now - form
beets are expected to . offer an
exact check on all financial trans
actions which take place in jus
tice courts In connection with
criminal cases.
Rich pointed out yesterday that
the county has recently been as
sessed 1522.65 by the state for
fines which were Improperly re
ported or disposed of by justice
eonrt authorities.
Under previous management,
no means has been afforded the
county treasurer to check reports
of justice courts for accuracy in
stating fines and disposition ' of
fines. The consequence, expected
to be eliminated by the new re
port forms, was failnre to pay the
state money owing it from col
lection of fees and fines Imposed
in criminal matters appearing in
justice court dockets.

to become fit for daily 25 mile
tants. Sergeant Simpson is also
the custodian of the new company
mascot, "Rugged, a two-pound
kitten.
Laundry service has been estab
lished between Camp Murray and
Portland, 150 miles distance, and
minimum prices are charged. In
most cases the men have been is
sued duplicate uniforms to per
mit cleaning and to enable them
to have dry clothing at all times.
Deserving a special word of
merit is First Sergeant Earl VieB
ko, who, despite duties in the
field and at drill, has been able
to keep up his office work and at
the same time to maintain an
even, smooth working balance
within the company.
Army life Is not one of ease but
it is well liked by all men in this
company, as evidenced by mani
festations of a grade of morale
which is seldom witnessed among
a group of men such as these.
