Higher Education Budget Is Boosted Most Increases Involve Research; $614,000 Given in 1939 Requested legislative appropri ations of the state board of high er education for the 1941-42 bl- e n.nium will show an Increase when compared with the appro priations for the current two rear period, Darid Eccles, state bud get director announced yesterday. Board members spent most of Friday forenoon conferring with Governor Charles A- Sprague in connection with the new budget. Eccles said the most substantial increases asked by the board in- Tolred research divisions. Records show that the so-called supplemental legislative appropri ation for the board for this bien- nium was 1614,000. The board had requested 2 6 64,0 00.
