JEFFERSON Twenty - three young people met at the Evangel ical parsonage Thursday night-for the monthly social of the Chris tian Endeavor. Group singing and a scavenger hunt were featured. The group later went to the Frank Rehfeld home where ice cream and cake were served. Laura Kihs who has been em ployed in Salem since last fall, re turned home Saturday for the summer vacation. Helen Kihs is also spending the summer vaca tion with her parents, having closed a successful term of school at Sodarille. Keizer Picnic Attended by 150 KEIZER The community picnic held Sunday at Willow lake was attended by 150. I. W. Lewis was in charge ot the Ice cream. Charles Weathers, the pop; W. G. Union Hill Women To Hear of Tour UNION HILL Mrs. Henry Tate will entertain the members of the Union Hill Woman's club at her home on Thursday after noon. This will be the last meet ing until fall. Mrs. Dave John, the county federation president, will be a guest speaker. She will tell about her visit to the New York and San Franci3co world's fairs. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mollet and three children have moved back to their farm here after living In Lyons for several months. Mollet was employed in a garage there until it was sold recently. Mrs. Me'rtie Hunt accompanied her two cieces and a nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hurt of Salem and Virginia Hunt of Alas ka, have gone to California and Mexico. While in California they will visit with relatives. Saturday, May 2 5, will be clean up day at the Union Hill cemetery. Memorial Day Plans Formed Silverton Legion Program to Be Friday Morning at Armory SILVERTON Commander George Towe of Delbert Reeves post No. 7, American Legion, an nounced his Memorial day pro gram to be given at the armory beginning Friday at 10 a. m., to include: Invocation, Rev. Raymond Hall, son of the Lew Is Hall, had the honor of being named for Boy State session that is held at Hill Military academy of Portland during the summer. Young Hall served as captain of Sons of Legion, his father is past commander of the post, his moth er is a past president of the aux iliary and his sister, Evelyn Hall, past president of the Junior Girls' auxiliary. Walter Morgan Is chairman of Boy State committee plans. The nominating commit tee, George Manolis, Lewis Hall and Roy Davenport, will make its first report at the June meeting. Evenrian Bobbins Dies at Molalla AURORA Everman Robblns, 59, whose grandparents came to Molalla in the '40s and had spent his life at Molalla, died Monday at his home after a three months' Illness. He was born February 5,' 1881, the son of Levi and Ediff Rob blns. He had been assistant post master at Molalla for the past three years. For 22 years he was associated with his brother, L. W. Robbins, in the mercantile business; was a member of the IOOF lodge for 35 years, affiliat ed with the Rebekahs, and also served several years on the Mo lalla school board. He is survived by his widow, Clara; two sons, Deland of For est Grove and Gerald at home; one brother, L. Wayne, of Port land; and four sisters, Ipha Rob bins, Mrs. Delia Shaver, and Mrs. Martha Kaylor. all of Molalla. and Mrs. Nettie Kaylor of Boring. Funeral services will be held at the Molalla Funeral home Thursday afternoon af 2 o'clock with interment in the Adams cemetery, Molalla. Brush Collegers To Hear Traveler BRUSH COLLEGE: Mrs. Oliv er Whitney will be hostess to Brush College Helpers Thursday at 2 o'clock. Main speaker on the program will be Mrs. Marie Flint McCall, who will give a travel ogue on her trip to Alaska and exhibit interesting articles she brought home. Joseph Singer, general chair man of arrangements for the an nual Brush College homecoming to be held June 1, announced that men of the community gather at the community picnic grounds Satnrday. May 25, for a day of work preparing the grounds for the big event. Members of the Brush College Helpers have vol unteered to have a dinner for the workers at noon.
