SILVERTON Funeral services for Willard Jay Jefferson, 81, who died Tuesday at his home on route three, , will be held Saturday at 1:30 o'clock from the Clough-Bar- tick chapel in Salem, Rev. James EJ Mllligan officiating. . Mr. Jefferson was a prominent farmer, a charter member ot North Howell grange and road su pervisor In district No. 16. He was a member of the Methodist church. The son of Delos and Ma tilda Apperson Jefferson, pioneers. he was born in Marlon county In September. 18 57, and spent all his life here. Surviving are six children: Earl R.. Raymond C. and Chester C. ot Silverton, Mrs. Irene Russand Mrs. Agnes Wells ot Portland and Mrs. Bernice Summers. Salem; a brother. John Jefferson, Albany; and two sisters, Mrs. 8usle Pro ser and Mrs. Hattie Lacey, both of Salem. . ... Personnel Officer i For UCC Released Carl Cover, personnel officer for the state unemployment com pensation commission since its inception, has been released from his position, officials announced here Wednesday. The office car ried salary of SZZ5. Officials said Cover's release was in line with the economy program announced by the fed eral government.
