Peterson DALLAS Mrs. Harvey Carpen ter, president of the Woman's club, entertained with a 1 o'clock dessert luncheon at her home Wednesday afternoon for a group ot club members. Sell Old Mains SCIO Scio council has re ceived approximately MOO from the sale of discarded wooden water - mains and other equip ment, it is reported. Water Request Studied SCIO Joe DrdUk's request for city water service extension to hli resident In the west out skirts of Scio will bo among mat ters to be considered by the Scio city council at a regular meet ing March 2. The request was presented to the council at the February meeting and referred to committee. A similar rquest by residents in south scio was recently denied. .J. F. Onper received surgical treatment for aa eye affliction at Salem this' week. Oupor has been water superintendent for the city of Scio for number of years, and recently has served si an aa citv marshal. A. L. Arnold, 74, Is reported still seriously ill at his home two miles east of Scio on Thomas creek.
