After the lodge session conduct ed by the noble grand, Mrs. Elmer Boyer, this program was enjoyed: piano solos. Rev. Don Huckabee; readings. Mrs. Ben Chamberlain, instrumental duets. Mrs. Elmer Boyer and Miss Sylvia Stupka; reading. Mrs. William Ramage. and vocal solos, Mrs. D. George Cole. Convention April 0 The Marion county Odd Fellows convention will be held in Stayton, April 9. A good program has been announced by the Marion county chairman, Felix T. Wright of Stay ton, Rev. Chester P. Gates of Port land, outstanding speaker of the Portland district of Odd Fellows, will be the main speaker: Rev. Don Huckabee, pastor of the Stayton- Methodist church, will play the electric organ, and there will be other program mem bers. E. Dean Anderson is general chair man, assisted by Carmen Guef froy, Jean Millican, Harold Davis and Florence Story. INDEPENDENCE Members of the Eastern Star chapter of Am ity were honored guests of Adah chapter No. 34 for dinner, chapter and a short program. Honored guests were: Ella Mar tin, worthy matron of Amity chap ter; Belle Niles Brown, worthy matron of Chadwick chapter of Salem; Mrs. Thomas, associate matron; Mrs. Wood, conductress, Mrs. Tarbit, marshal; and Mr. and Mrs. Crippen and Mr. Wood, mem bers all of Amity chapter. The honored guests were presented with flowers and corsages. Naomi chapter of Dallas has in vited Adah chapter to accept a "Twin Officer" night with them Tuesday night, April 12. The invi tation was accepted. Adah chapter will dispense with their regular meeting on that night. The last meeting of Adah chapter in April, the 26th, will be Past Matrons and Past Patrons night. . J. Butter. A social hour followed. Walker Invited to Address Seniors Silverton Rotary Plans Second Birthday Affair SILVERTON The Rotary club will observe Its second anniversary on April 2. There were 34 charter members on the roll and Robert Goetz was its first president. Dr. R. E. Kleinsorge is now president. William McGilchrist Jr., of Salem, presided at the initial meeting. Others attending from Salem at the organization meeting were Walter Molloy, W. G. Dancy, Lee Dnruh. J. C. Perry, C. A. Sprague and C. E. Wilson. SCIO Charles F. Walker of the Northwestern School of Commerce, Portland, haa ac cepted an invitation to speak at commencement exerciser for the 1938 class at Scio high school on Friday, May 20, at Scio ZCBJ hall. Baccalaureate serv ices will be held in a Scio church the preceding Sunday, May 15. Nineteen seniors comprise the Scio high seniors gained a point in the lnter-class cup con test when they led the list of names on the honr roll for the six weeks' period Just ended. Seniors included Florence Denni son, Lois Hill. Maxine Moses and Vera Walter.
