Storage Arranged Two large safes, which will be part of the of fice furnishings when the postal department moves to new quarters near the first of the year, were placed in the hands of a local stor age agency recently. They arrived with a shipment of other new of fice furniture last week. Tables, desks and cabinets, making up the remainder of the shipment, went to the old postoffice for storage. Motor Barns A motor fire in refrigeration unit at a grocery store at 1190 Broadway caused run by the Salem fire depart ment early yesterday morning. A similar fire at the same place several weeks ago caused an alarm. Gosslin to Return W. L. Goss- lin, private secretary to Governor Martin and past president of the state Toung Democratic organiza tlon, is expected to return today from Indianapolis. Budget of Health Unit to Be $6405 The city budget committee's! sub-confmittee on health will rec ommend to the general group a $6405 allowance-for the city-coun ty health unit for 1938 at the meeting to be held next Monday night; Alderman W. D. Evans, chairman, reported yesterday. This sum, he said, was voted on favorably-because it was the amount requested . by the health . unit ex ecutive board and was considered actually less than was needed. The recommended $6405 appro priation for the health department represents a $530 increase from the current year's allowance. Of the 3530 increase, $460 is for sal aries, $25 for rent and mainten aace. $25 for medical and office supplies and $20 for transporta tion. The committee on parka and bands has decided to recommend a wage allowance of $1250 instead of. the $1500 requested, for the Sa lem municipal band,. Alderman Clifford O. Daue. revealed yester day. Woodburn Justice Handles 69 Cases Under Motor Law Woodburn justice court, presid ed over by Jndge H. Overton, led all other justice and municipal courts in Marion county last month in the number of motor ve hicle law cases handled, accord ing to a report from Secretary of State, Earl Snell received yester day br County Clerk TJ. G. Boyer. Judge Overton's court received 69 cases of which one resulted in a license revocation. Second was Salem Justice court, with 39 cases and three revocations, and third, Salem mtrnlcfbal court, with 20 eases and three revocations. " Silverton Justice court handled 10. cases with three, revocations resulting, and Stay ton Justice court four, cases with one license suspension. Jefferson and Mt. An gel justice courts and Mt.
