The evening will be spent informally and a crystal shower will honor the bride-to-be. At a late hour Bupper will be served by the hostess. The table will be centered with the crystal wrapped in pastel shades and a wedding bell over the middle of the table with pink streamers coming down to a min iature bride and groom. Rosebuds and pink tapers will flank either aide of the arrangement and roses will also be used about the room. Miss Bertha Babcock will assist . the hostess. Those bidden to honor Miss Chapman are . I Country Home Is Scene di Large Bridge Tea THE country home of Mrs. Ho mer Goulet, sr., was the scene of one of the largest events of the week when the Junior Guild of St. Paul's Episcopal church en tertained with a benefit bridge tea. Proceeds will eo toward Bish- I op Dagwell's missionary fund. Ta bles were - in play inside and on the verandah of the Goulet home. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Charles Jory, Mrs. John Brophy and Mrs. Homer Egan. Columbine was effectively used, about the rooms with other spring flowers. Presiding at the tea ta ble were Mrs. George H. Swift and Mrs. J. J. Panton. Assisting in the serving were Mrs. Wallace Car son, Mrs. Homer Goulet, jr., Mrs. George Weller, Mrs. James Lald law, Mrs. Homer Egan, Mrs. Rich ard Stolz and Miss Henrietta White. Mrs. Sydney Kromer was gen eral chairman of the affair and working with her on the commit tee were Mrs. George A. White, Mrs. Sanderson Reed, Mrs. J. J. Panton and Mrs: Homer Goulet. Bishop Benjamin Dagwell and Rev. George H. Swift called dur ing the afternoon. Those playing were Mrs. Wes- The Northwest division of the Ladies' Aid of the I First Presby terian church is meeting at the home of Mrs. H. B. Glaisyer on Monday and will have a calico tea. Ladies of the congregation are invited and everyone must wear cotton and bring sewing on pen alty of being fined. The time is 2 o'clock. Telford. r2 ceived her degree in school of home economics, while her hus band, Thomas D. Telford. . was given his degree in the school ot engineering. Mr. and Mrs. Tel ford left Corvallis early Tuesday afternoon for Klamath Falls, where Mr. Telford is employed by the state highway commission. Exhibit at Public Library Opens Saturday ANNOUNCEMENT Is being made that the Oregon State Art Museum association and the Salem Arts League are sponsor ing an exhibit of water colors and lithographs in the Fireplace Room, of the Salem Public Library open ing Saturday night, June 5 through Sunday June 13. The work which will be exhibited has been done by various Oregon art ists of the Federal Art portrait ex hibition. The public is cordially Invited to view these fine paintings. The exhibit will be open in both the afternoon and evening. Hours are from two to three in the after noon and from seven to nine in the' evening except Sundays when it will be open from two to five in the afternoon.
