1 i !; . . if? 7 Home Wedding Is Held at Silverton Ruth Gordon Is Bride of Grant Montgomery Thursday Night - SILVERTON, April 16 -At a Charming wedding tonight at 7 o'clock; - Miss Ruth Gordon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Winchell, became the bride ol Grant Montgomery. The wedding ceremony was read by Re?. J. M. Jenson before the flower- banked fireplace at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stamejr. Daf fodils, spirea and foTthsithia were used as floral decorations with candles furnishing the light. The bride wore a floor-length aqua taleta gown and carried a nosegay of mixed flowers. She was attended by Miss Eleanor Moen, gowned in pink chiffon. Miss Moen also carried a nose gay. Fred Moore was best man for Mr. Montgomery. The bridal marches were play ed by Miss Jean Oeder, and Mrs. Carl Stamey sang "I Love You Truly." Reception Is Held . v - Following the ceremony, a re ception was held at the Winchell home. Assisting Mrs. Winchell were Misses Muriel Stamey, Max. lne Oeder and Jean Oeder. -Following a short wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Montgomery : will be at home at Silrerton. Amony the out-of-town guests : were Dale Montgomery, a brother I of the bridegroom: Mr. and Mrs. Arista Nendell of Woodburn . Crede Lincoln and daughter. Miss Thelma Lincoln of Vernonia, Seventy-fire guests attended the reception. As a going away costume, Mrs Montgomery wore a grey suit with blue accessories. Odd Fellows Give Veterans' Jewels JEFFERSON, April 15 The I. O. O. F. district convention of Marion and Linn counties, which was held in Jefferson was well attended. April 15 Little Interest was shown In the election Monday which was held at the schoolhouse to rote on the " con solidation of Parrish Gap dUtriet with the Jefferson district. Only 2 f votes were cast: all but one in favor of consolidation.. Voters did not know that only one hour would be allowed in which to vote. and some came to rote after the polls were closed. In the Parrish Gap district the vote was Uea. Open house wll be held Friday at 1:10 p. m. at the high school building in Albany, when all adult education classes - In the district will display work done. fine display of baskets and other ar ticles made of reed, and knitted clothing will be on display by the classes in Jefferson. - Mr. and Mrs. Dallis Harris are the parents of a s pound daugh ter, Paula Jean, born'; Sunday. April 11, at . the Albany general hospital. .This Is their '- second child, and she has a brother. -' Wrights Is California Mr. and Mrs. John Wright' and son Harold left Saturday morn ing for California where they ex pect to spend about three months visiting relatives in San Fran cisco and Los Angeles. Harold Wright, employed la Portland, will return to his work In a few days. I Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Emery were Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Ramsdell of Woodburn, their son Delmer of Rogue River, and Miss Donna Conyne of Woodburn. Delmer Ramsdell is teacher in the Rogue River high school and came to the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Emery, on his motor cycle, making the trip la five hours Friday evening. Joseph Wolf and family moved Wednesday to Mill City where Mr. Wolf is employed at the Frank Et zel Lumber company as truck driver. He stressed the need ot cooperation in realizing alms and purposes of the whole. The grange decided to accept the invitation of Union Hill grange to put on the third and fourth degree work for a group ot candidates there, Friday. It was also voted to cooperate with several other granges in the sponsorship ot a booth at the state fair next fall. RICKREALL. April 15 The April meeting of the Polk grange visitation was held at Buell Tues day night where all but two granges of the county were rep resented.
