April 15 Ross Ray of Scio has contracted to cat red fir piling on the Fred Jones farm about seven miles southeast of this city. The shorter timbers will be used at San Francisco, while the longer ones are destined for markets In China, work in the woods at the Jones place has been halted during recent inclement weather. With return of settled weather, the Crown mine in the Elkhorn mining district on the Little North Fork of the Santiam rlrer will re sume operations, according to plans announced some time ago by R. Bicycle Jaunt Ends When Paul Batcheller Thrown' WALDO HILLS, April 15 Rob ert Dickman of Evergreen and Panl Batcheller of Brnsh Creek started on a bicycle trip Sunday from Robert's to Paul's home. f Just across Drift creek bridge. less than half a mile on the way, Paul's front wheel struck a stone.
