Merging ot the American Bowman! archery magarine and the Archery Re view has been announced here. The former which is published In Albany, buying the rival maga sine, one of the other two pub lished in the United States. The magazine will be called the -American Bowman-Review. The Archery Review was start ed five years ago by N. j. Whaley and R. A. Brant at Oklahoma City, Okla. The American Re view was founded in December 1935, by C. C. Hall and Frank Taylor of Albany. Hall is editor and manager and Taylor ft Son the publishers. Panlus Bros. .- cannery reported yester day, upon return from Chicago where he spent last week in at tendance at the annual national canner's convention. When he left Chicago Friday, there was comparatively little snow, a and the - theremometer stood at 7 degrees above sero. Travel was unhindred the entire route home, though there were Varying degrees of snow along the way, until he reached Port land. Optimism Xot Apparent When the canners disbanded, there - was little , prospect for settle ment . of the maritime strike, and consequently opti mism was not greatly apparent among the delegations, Paulus indicated. Paulus is returning the southern route and will spend some time in California on business before returning here, and Hillman, also returning via California, is not expected back for another week or 10 days. . Future Farmers . t Fair Mofy " ALBANY. Feb. 2. For the first time the Albany Future Farmers of America will hold a fair In Linn county, the date of wLIch will be determined later. The project was made known when the application for an allo cation of fair funds was granted by the Linn county fair commit tee. The committee gave the pro ject 3100. This was part of the total allotment of $995 which had been apportioned among the dif ferent communities and organisa tions for. fairs at the board meet ing held Saturday. j The board members are Dr. A. G. Prill of Scio, E. G.' Pugh of Shedd. L E. Arnold of Lebanon, and County Agent: Floyd Mullen. Arnold was reappointed a mem ber for three years and Mullen vas reelected secretary. Arnold was also named as chairman of the board. i Other communities to receive allotments were: Halsey commun ity fair, 30: Lebanon Strawber ry fair, $100; Linn county 4-H club fair 8400; Sweet Home com munity fair, 375; Scio fat limb show, $85; Oakville community fair, $40; Brownsville Garden club, 825; Linn-Benton Jersey Jubilee, 825; - Harrisburg Com munity fair, 326; Morning Star grange. $10; Shedd community fair, $40.
