Liberty Reports Big Enrollment New Schedule Includes 40 Minutes Daily for Gym Work LIBERTY, Sept. 24. -The local school had an auspicious opening Monday with an enrollment of 94. This is higher .than the first day's enrollment of the past few years. and several more pupils are ex pected when the prune harvest is completed. There are quite a number of new pupils from east ern states. ' In the seventh and eighth grades, taught by A. V. Myers, principal, there are 26 pupils; Mrs. Gibbs, new teacher of the fifth and sixth grades, has 23 pupils; Miss Jean Cladek, also a new teacher, ha 22 In the third and fourth grades; Miss Florence Berndt has 23 children in the first two grades. Designate Activities The school work, aside from regular classes, will be handled by the teaching staff as follows: Myers will handle the boys' ath letics for the four upper grades; Miss Cladek will have charge of the girls' athletics in the four up per grades and also music for the school and Miss Berndt will be in charge of the library and text books as usual. Inovations in school time will Include 40 minute gym classes every other day, alternating boys and girls' classes; an auditorium period every Friday from 1 p. m till 1:30; lunching In the gym building's dining hall, where a 20 minute lunch period will be In force during the noon hour.
