Counter-Off cr Is Made For Timber After Investigating a proposed trade of timber land along the North Santlam highway. County Judge Siegraund and County En gineer Hubbs yesterday refused the offer made by a Portland man and offered Instead to trade land where timber had already been cut, but insisted that no further catting should be done on the right-of-way. The nrooosal to trade the land came after loggers had started cutting Umber which was sup posed to be owned by the Port land man, but belonged to the county. About 60,000 feet of logs were cut. . The trade would "have been for land along the highway, privately owned, and river land, owned by the county.
