The annual local garden tour last Sunday was, as usual, one of the pleasant affairs of early spring and is credited with the improvement of nearly every gar- den or small yard in this locality. The group had dinner at the grange hall and visited yards be fore and after dinner, concluding the day with a visit to the Cooley lria gardens at Silverton. Among the marked Improve- ments in the North Howell area was that at the Marx home where a pool baa been made and many beautiful roses are being grown. The hillside yard at the home of Mrs. Mary Stemehs is also being Improved to an unusual degree.
