Give Tea for Mothers The 4-H clnb of the seventh grade rare a tea at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Sllvas Tuesday aft ernoon, in honor of their mothers and a few guests. Tea was served from a beautifully decorated table with Verna Caraway and ITaael Gouge pouring. Those serving were Dorothy Dean Mason, Margaret Carter and Haxel Gouge. A short program in charge of Haxel Gouge consisted of a talk airing history of 4-H by Verna Caraway; vocal duet by Dorothy Dean Mason and Margaret Carter and a reading by Marjorle Sylvia. Mothers entertained were Mrs. C. E. Mason, Mrs. H. Gouge. Mrs. Harry Carter, the leader, Mrs. Sylvia and guests. Mrs. Dick Tur pin and Miss Daisy Henderson. Boy Scouts Give Program, Keizer KEIZER, March 26 The pro gram sponsored by troops 8 and 9 under direction of Scoutmaster DeKorab, was given as a "Major Bowes Amateur Hour" Wednesday night at the schoolhouse. Prune Met Meet Tonight, Dallas DALLAS. March 2C. A mass meeting of Polk county prune growers is being scheduled tor Friday night, at S p. m." at the Woodman ball in Dallas. The new marketing agreement proposed by the. Oregon prune control board will be discussed and explained. The meeting is open to all prune growers and others who arer in terested. t Members of the Oregon prune control board will attend the Dal las meeting. The DalUs grange, which meets on the same night, will hold its regular- business session at 6 o'clock in order to be through by the time o the prune meeting. An invitation is extended to all gran gers of the county to attend the Dallas graage meeting; and remain for the prune meeting. Celebration Mav Be Held July 4 SILVERTON, March 21. The dignified quiet which has reigned at Silverton on Jaly Fourth for many a long year, is at last to be broken. If the rumblings about the city are interpreted correct ly. Silvertn businessmen and wo men will- again make "whoopee" at home on the Fourth. In old times. It is being recalled, some times fiv3, and even ten thou sand visitors spent the Fourth at Silverton. This year, a similar celebration is being hoped for. Streamers, banners and other street decorations which will have been put up for the Eagles' con vention to be held here in June. will be left for the celebration, it ts understood.
