The members of the American Legion Auxiliary were hostesses to the senior Girl Reserves Wednesday night at the armory club rooms. The guests presented an excellent program with the selection an nouncements made by Vera Hel denstrom in original rhyme. The playlet, 'The Persecuted Maiden", was also in poetry: a "child" quintet sang; Edna Kreuti played a guitar number; Helen Lambert gare, as a reading, "Cornelia's Proposal", by Lamp man: a girls' Tocal quartet sang: June Baker and Julia Fotton did . a costume skit. "One Born Every Ulinute"; and June Bowman, president of the Girl Reserves, gave expression of gratitude to the hostesses and Mrs. Zanta Hut ton as chairman of the sewing club entertainment committee, re sponded. Dnnring En joyed The girls . danced informally and sang group songs following the serving of supper. Advisers for. the Reserves, are Miss Marie Kiev, Mrs. Paul Johnson. Mrs. Walter Morgan and Mrs. L. Debate occupied a part of the afternoon at Gervais high school Friday when the subject, "Resolv ed, that the Townsend Old Age Revolving Pension Plan should be Immediately enacted into Law, was discussed by six boys: Raymond Kuhn, Joe Henny nd Raymond Jefferson for the affir mative and Roy Francis. Gael Cutsforth and Joe Pfau tor the negative. Three teachers, Mr. Gallegly, Mr. Tong and Miss Mannix, acted as Judges and gave the decision to the negative by a 2 to 1 vote as they seemed, better prepared. The debaters were given only two days to prepare.
