Grain Tumbles About 2 Cents j Farm Stock Estimate and Crop Forecast Bearish In Chicago Market CHICAGO, March -)-Tum-bles of almost 2 cents a bushel In wheat pricej today resulted large ly from bearish estimates of farm stocks and reports of little winter killing. Actire selling, apparently start ed from speculative sources, re vealed wheat war without ag gressive buying support, despite persistent dry weather southwest and notwithstanding Liverpool market firmness. Premiums for domestic high protein wheat both southwest and north weft fell sharply. Wheat closed weak at virtually the day's bottom level, 4-l un der yesterday's finish. May 98 U . July 88K-. corn -4 down, May 60-Vt, oats - off, and provisic :s varying from 17 cents setback to 7 cents gain. X w Crop Falters Stop-loss selling broke out first in May wheat, but soon af terward the new crop deliveries too showed decided weakness. In addition to reports indicating winter killing of wheat appeared small, advices stressed spring wheat areas have had sufficient moisture to permit rapid germin ation. New export purchases of Cana dian wheat were estimated at as high as 1,000,000 bushels, but the effect was more or less counter balanced by further trade gossip that Canada's crop has been un der estimated. Corn and oats sympathized with wheat weakness. Unofficial estimates of farm reserves of corn were about as looked for. Provisions reflected downturns of bog values and of grains. H onor Greens on 45th Anniversary HUBBARD, March 6 Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Green of Hubbard celebrated their 4 5th wedding an niversary in their new home here March 3. The members of their family who were present were their sons. Allen and J. L. Green, jr., and their families, and a daughter - in - law, Mrs. Percy Green and children. Among the other guests were Rev. Alvin Ellison of Los An geles, Rev. Johnson of Broad acres and Rev. HerrAan Fulton of Woodburn. During the day a short reli gious service was held and sev eral interesting talks on home life were given by the ministers present. Rev. Ellison dedicated a poem to Mr. and Mrs. Green, sr., who have lived many years in and around Hubbard and Wood burn. They have been interested in the work of the Church of God in Woodburn and have now bought a part of the Mary Goudy property where they are building their new home and will in the near future hold church services in what was formerly known as the Hubbard Enterprise office. Domett ic Wool Slow On Market at Boston BOSTON. March 6.-iA)-(V. S. Dept. Agr.) -Very few sales were reported on domestic wools, and those few were small. Some com mon and braid wool was sold at around 55 cents scoured basis. Average to short French combing 64s and finer territory wools in original bags brought 86-88 cents scoured basis for small clean-up lots. Baldwin Fined $7.50 SILVERTOX. March 6 J. M. Heavier . . Than Last Year SAN FRANCISCO. March (AP) The opening of the Paci fic Coast egg storage season will arrive formally Monday, March 9, under mixed conditions. Prices will be lower and production heavier than last 'year, but .feed is also lower, and storage supplies depleted. Some movement into storage has been reported this week. The Pacific Egg Producers, eastern sales agency for. 5 Pacific Coast producer cooperatives, an nounced today deliveries for cold storage pack will be received Mon day on the following basis: First grade, 23 cents a dozen. Second grade, 22 cents. Third grade, 20 cents. May Realize More These prices are on the basis of The prices are those at which the Pacific Coast agencies estimate" the eggs can be marketed, with conservative judgment of the fall outlook. The prices are, of course, considerably .under what the co operatives hope to realize. CoasC production currently is about 9 per cent heavier, than last year, and has been running 1C to 15 per cent above 193a most of thisyear. While this larger out put has been well absorbed, it in d cates a probable more rapid buildup of storage stocks this year, which will, of course, be p&rtly offset by the later opening of the storage season.
