Jack Tyson reported that be would interview the United States Na tional bank officials in Portland in regard to establishing a tbranch bank here in Jefferson. ! A local bank would be a great asset to the community. Bob Sum merrille was admitted to member ship in the club. Cornelia Davis Library Opened For School Use TURNER. Feb. 28. The Tur ner memorial library building, left in the estate of the late Cornelia A. Davis, has been opened in a limited way for use. It contains 1250 volume of modern library se lections including some valuable high-priced reference volumes, all purchased before Mrs. Daris died in May 1932. Recent arrangements have been made to allow the high school students to number and classify the books, and under the direc tion of the teachers, they will be allowed the use of the library. The building also contains the Turner Davis museum. E. J. Gilstrap has his office in the fireplace room and Mrs: J. B. Kendall of the Cornelia A. Davis court meets her art class In one of the rooms. LABISH CENTER, Feb. 28. Because of the prevalence of colds, measles and mumps which has made it impossible for tbe women of the community to hold rehearsals for their program there will be no March meeting of the community club, Nathan Kurth, president, announced late this week. Feb.- 2 v Silver ton churches are starting the new month with a full program both for Sunday and for the night of the coming- week. A special mission program win be given at Trinity Sunday school Sunday morning at 10 o'clock fol lowed by the 11 o'clock services at which Rev. M. J. K. Fuhr, recent ly of San Diego, will speak on "Tempted and Tried In All Things." Sunday night the newly organised Trinity Luther League will meet with Miss Ruth Thomp son as president. Dr. Louis Patmont wiU speak at the Christian church Sunday night at 7:S0. Sunday school opens at 9:45 at the ' Methodist church Sunday morning. At 11 o'clock Rev. D. Lester Fields will speak on "Di vine Power Our Inheritance." Special music is being arranged by the choir directed by Fred Ba ker. The evening sermon theme will be "Empty Pitchers." At Immanuel church Rev. J. M. Jensen will speak at 11 o'clock. The Young People's league will serve luncheon following the ser vices and this will be followed again by an afternoon program.
