R. Powers, Thursday afternoon, airs. Ray Perkins was assistant hostess. Twenty-three members answer ed roll call by telling what they would like in their dream house. A. O. Hunt, of Salem gave a talk on "Wool fiber as you find it in blankets, hats and clothing materials." ' Luncheon suggestive of Valentine's day was served at the close of the meeting. Special guests were Mrs. W. Paddy, Mrs. E. Harvey, Mrs. H. Robertson, Mrs. Vira Hogue, Mrs. W. Whitehead, Mrs. Shaner and Mrs. Parks. K.P. Card Party Planned At Hubbard Hall Hubbard. The Knights of Py thias and Pythian Sisters are is suing invitations to new members and a large group of friends of the order for a card party on Feb ruary 20th at the Pythian hall in Hubbard. Zosel Home Scene for Club Meeting Liberty The Liberty Wom an's club met at the W. Zosel home Thursday afternoon with 25 ladles in attendance. Mrs. R. L. Forster, who is in charge of the school hot lunch project gave a report of activitr and finances thus far. Her resig nation was accepted and Mrs. C. C. Sargent was appointed in her place. Mr Holland Jory present ed the subject of vocational guid ance and Interested the club to the extent that it decided to un dertake a str ly of the subject. Mrs. Lawrle Walker, chairman of tbe child welfare committee, will head a special committee. A "Sunshine Box" of amuse ments was made up for presenta tion to Carolyn and Woodford Carson, who are still confined to their beds part of the day as a result of scarlet fever complica tions. They are the children uf the C. L. Carsons. Mrs. George Elgin presented the current events topic, "Your Seat on the Ground", a discourse on hiking. Mrs. Vera Shattuc gave the art study talk o nth? topic "Origin of Art," using pictures for illustration. The annual scholarship tea will be held at the next meeting. The affair was la honor of the club's 12th birth day. Hostesses for the affair were Mesdames A. C. Van Nuts, H. A. Beauchamp. Harvey Walker, Nell Jones and Fred Keeler. Three long tables were adorned down the center with sprays of Ivy interspersed with yellow flow ers and green tapers. Huge bou quets of pussy willows and Ore gon grape were also used about the room. A program consisting of num bers by Guy Stoper. violinist, and Mrs. H. A. Beauchamp, accompan ist; two numbers by the club sex tette, Mesdames Adams, Schaefer. Korinek. Van Nuys, H. A. Beau champ and Inglis were next, the last number a "greeting" song having been composed by Mrs. Van Nuys; a reading by Miss Eu nice Jordan, who was heartily en cored, a duet by Mrs. Roscoe Poole and Mrs. Giles Brown and an interesting talk by Superin tendent of Schools Howard George on club work and its his tory. Past presidents of the club, Mrs. Q. E. Gardner. Mrs. B. A. Schaefer, and Mrs, C P. Neibert together with the, present presi dent. Mrs. C. A. Beauchamp. and their husbands were seated at one table. Each president gave a brief talk. Letters were read from Mrs. Edna Sloper, the . club's first president, who was 111 and unable to attend, and Mrs. Emma Brown, of Redmond. Following the dinner a social hour was enjoyed, many gather ing about the piano to sing eld songs. The affair was a decided success and much credit goes to the committee in charge. Tonus; People Pisa Play The Catholic Young People's club are working bard on a play. "Tons of Trouble," which they will present at an early date. They also announce a public dance to be given in the Forrester hall on February 28. In their recent membership contest, la which, : Germalne Smith - was captain of the girls' side and Gordon Shield's the boys; the girls were winners so the boys entertained with dane- - ing cards and refreshments at their meeting this week. Mr. and Mrs. Olst Brenden f North Bend are announcing the birth of a son, Jerry Rooke, January 25. Mrs. Brenden will be remembered here as Mrs. Helen Booner Feneide, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R.
