Docket No. Oreg.1063 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed, proposals will be receiv ed at the office of the Recorder of the City of Jefferson at Jeffer son, Oregon, until 11:00 o'clock A. M. January 14, 1936, for the furnishing of material and equip ment for the water system and reservoir of the City of Jefferson, including all material and appur tenances in place. These bids will be publicly opened and read at 11:00 o'clock A. M. at said date and place. The proposed improvement con sists of replacing water mains with about 4,000 feet of 6-inch pipe and 9,000 feet of 4-inch pipe, about. 2000 feet of which is under pavement, and requiring one railroad crossing and two highway crossings and the trans fer of all service connections from the old pipe to the new Pipe and the removal of the old pipe. It is also proposed to place reinforced concrete six inches thick on the sides, ends and bottom of the ex isting concrete reservoir, which is 50 feet by 22 feet by 10 feet deep, using the present structure for the outer forms and readjusting the inlet and outlet valves and pipes. Plans, Specifications, Instruc tions to Bidders, Federal Con struction Regulations, General Provisions, and other contract documents will be on file for ex amination at the office of the City Recorder of Jefferson, Ore gon, on and after January 4, 1936. Copies of these documents may be obtained upon application to and the deposit of Five Dol lars (35.00) per set with said Re corder. The deposit will be re funded upon the return in good condition of said documents. No proposal will be considered unless it is submitted upon a form of proposal furnished by said Re corder. Attention is called to the prequalification requirements of Chapter 225, Laws of Oregon, 1931. The work is to be paid for in whole or in part out of funds furnished by the United States Government, and all work and materials must be performed and or furnished in accordance with the rules and regulations pre scribed by the President and the rules and regulations relating to applicants and projects under the Emergency Appropriation Act of 1935. Attention is called to the fact that employees on this work must be paid not less than the mini mum hourly rates of wages set out in the Federal Construction Regulations. These minimum rates for skilled labor will be 1.85 per hour; for semiskilled or Intermediate classes of labor $.55 per hour; and for common labor, .45 per hour. Bidder's proposal must be ac companied by certified check or a bidder's bond in an amount equal to 5 of total amount of the pro posal as a guarantee for the exe cution of the contract and the fur nishing of the required bonds in case the contract la awarded . to the bidder. Acceptance of the proposal or proposals and the awarding of the contract or contracts is condition ed upon satisfactory assurance that the City of Jefferson will be able to secure from the Federal emergency Administration of Public Works the aid necessary to finance the project. The City of Jefferson reserves the right to hold bids for a period of -sixty days from the date of the open ing thereof. The United States Employment Service has designated an Agency at Salem, Oregon, to furnish labor lists for this work. . The City of Jefferson further reserves the right to reject any andor all proposals and to accept such proposals as are to the best interests of the City.
