Stream Pollution Held Big Problem Planning Board Reports to National Croup on Resources PORTLAND, Ore., Not. 11. -(&) -The declaration that stream pol lution constitutes one of the ma jor water problems facing Ore gon and other northwest states, was made in a report of the state planning board to the national resources committee. The report was released through the office of Marshall N. Dana, regional chairman. The report said "Waterbourne diseases are likely to be spread by use of contaminated water for domestic purposes or the irriga tion of crops, or forf bathing, boating and fishing, of for the production of Ice supplies which later come in contact with food or drinks that are consumed without being cooked." The board farther emphasised the destruction of recreational possibilities as a result of stream pollution.
