Local News Briefs Certificate Awarded C. A. Fischer and E. B. No Sign of Fraud Hisk Court Rules -The Mate supreme codrt Tues day affirmed Judge Hall S. Lusk of the Multnomah county circuit ourt in a suit , brought by Mrs. Carrie Rouse to recover damages of $50,000 from the Equitable Loan association. The lower court 'held for the defendant corpora tion. Mrs.1 Rouse alleged conspiracy on the-part of the loan associ ation to cheat and defraud her out of certain real property. The plaintiff contended that as a re sult of the conspiracy and fraud a mortgage foreclosure suit was wrongfully instituted and her pro perty rold . to satisfy an indebt edness not due. Justice Belt held that there was no evidence of conspiracy, fraud or damage. Oral orders were: Petitions for rehearing denied in Stacey vs. Gold, Jansen vs. Taylor, Dean vs. Colt and Doer fler vs. Rlchman. P. W. Mahoney of Heppner, dis barred from practicing- law , in this state. Book Circulation Has Big Increase SILVERTON, Nov. 5. The Oc tober library report of the Silver-1 ton public library submitted at the November meeting of the city council Monday night showed that during October circulation was 911 books, an increase of 28S over September. Sixteen new read ers were added;. 52 books donat ed, 77 magazines loaned; 5 books purchased and 32 books removed froni circulation. Donations were from Mr. and Mrs. M. C.
