A pretty welding was - solemnised Thursday night 8 o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. : E. G. . Morrison, when -their daughter, .Miss. Kathryn Morrison, became the bride of Max Griffith Scriber, foster son of the, late Misa Adelaide Scriuer. Trellis, autumn, flowerg and tiers of lighted bronze candelabra formed the background in the Morrison living room for the cer emony, which waa read by Dr. Sidney W. Hall of Salem. Pre ceding the ceremony, Mrs, Harry Riches, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Edson Comstock, sang I Loto -You' Truly'. The bride entered the room on the arm of her father as Mrs. Comstock play ed Lohengrin's Wedding March -Tbe bride was gowned in white chiffon made in long princess lines, with a double cape and a sheared train. A fillet of orange blossoms adorned her bair and she carried a shower bouquet of bovardia and Talisman rosebuds. Her only attendant was aer sis ter, Mrs. Floyd Mulkey, wearing pale green net and carrying an aim bouquet of bronze chrysan themums. Dr. R. Moore Stewart was best man for Mr. Scriber. Forty guests were invited to the wedding at the house where Mrs. A, L. V. Smith received at the door. Following the ceremony they all went to the social rooms of the Methodist church where a reception as held to which 90 friends wefee bidden. During the evening. Mrs. Gertrude Slado Cameron played a number of pi ano selections and Mrs. William Swift gave a group of violin num bers accompanied . by Mrs. Con stock. The table was spread with a lace cloth and centered with pink rosebuds and pink tapers in crys tal holders. Mr3. Albert Grinde and Mrs. H. J. Irerson received the. guests at the door. Serving - were Miss Elaine Clower. Mrs. Norman Neageli, Mrs. Dwith Foot and Miss Olga Green. Mr. and Mrs. Scriber will live at the groom's farm home, one of the old homes in the Waldo Hills. - Miss Mathis Will Give Bridge Party Miss Edna Matthis will be a smart hostess Saturday night when she entertains with a bridge party complimenting a group of the high Bchool set. Miss Loretta Matthis and Mrs. J. O. Matthis will assist at tbe sapper hjrur. Hallowe'en appoint ments will prevail. Those bidden are Miss Jean Doege, Miss Jean Bartlett. Miss Jeanette Brown. The senior class of Salem high school will hold a barn dance in the gymnasium tonight from ft to 10:30 o'clock. Miss Jean Wiley is general chairman. The Mutual Improvement asso ciation of the Latter Day Saints church will have a dance at the Unitarian church on Tuesday night, October 29. Mrs. Elmer Johnson is Holding Own With Perer SILVERTON, Oct. 2 Mrs. El mer Johnson, who is critically 111 with typhoid fever contracted fol lowing &. vacation trip north, was reported. Thursday morning as be ing about the same. Her tempera ture has been running to 104 and 105 degrees each day, but Wed-, nesday it dropped down to 102 f or a short time. Mr. Johnson, who was also ill after the vacation, is up and around again. A special nurse is caring for Mrs. Johnson.
