Methodists Still Lead, Willamette Although Its policy is non-sectarian Willamette university is still a Methodist school If figures, as shown by the university's an nual survey of church member ship and preference, mean any thing. Of the 640 students registered at, Willamette 413 are church members and 2Z0 of these are members of the Methodist church. The Presbyterian church comes second with 48 members. Mem bership in other sects is Congre gational 34, Christian 24, Catholic 16, Lutheran 14, Episcopal 13, Baptist 12, Evangelical 9, Unit ed Brethren 8, Mennonite 4, Chris tian Science 2, Mormon 2, Friends 2, and one each Greek Orthodox, Reform, Unitarian, Jewish and Salem Japanese. Church, preferences were given by 137 students while 90 indicat ed neither membership nor prefer ence. . The. Methodist church also topped the preference ' with"- 72.
