Mrs. W. L. Peterson at Inde pendence, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Keeney fun eral chapel. Dr. H. Charles Duns more officiating, . - Anna Quinn was born October 20, 1854, in New Jersey, where she taught school in her early life and where she was married to Dr. J. B. Olmstead. They came to Oregon many years ago, he practicing in Portland many years and serring for a period as Artisan medical examiner. They came to Polk county and started the building of a sanitor ium near Airlle, these plans being ended with his death in 1912, Seven years later she married J. H. Thurston and they lived in Monmouth for nearly 15 years, or until be died in 1933. Because she was herself an orphan, Mrs. Thurston dedicated her life to rearing 13 motherless girls and was very active in all forms of social welfare work. Surviving, besides Mrs. Peter son, are three other foster daugh ters, Mrs. C H. Conorer of New Jersey, Mrs. L. H. Erans and Mrs. Lester Maple of Portland. Commitment services will be held at the Portland crematorium Mrs. Thurston has been in ill health for some time. A. M. Chapman, prune administrator, declared yesterday. . The prices Quoted do not have sanction of the state department ot agriculture, Chapman stated, adding that the .prone control board bas not yet named any price on dried prunes.
