The bride was gowned in egg
shell taffeta fashioned with a
cowl neck and full sleeves of net
She carried red roses. Her sis
ter, Miss Mary Lois Drrggs, was
maid of honor and wore a pink
organdie froek with a fitted jack-
et, high neck and long sleeves.
Her bouquet was of pink ' and
white sweet peas.'

A reception followed in the
church parlors. The serving ta
ble was covered with a handsome
linen cloth and centered with the
wedding cake guarded by white
candles in crystal holders.

On Metropolitan Project
An opportunity which has never
before been offered young singers

for an actor's benefit with Arthur
Anderson, basso, from the Metro
politan. To think that I was en
tertaining a group who had spent
their lives entertaining others was
most exciting,' she said. In her
two years of study. Miss Thiel
sen has learned 12 operatic roles.
The young artists has appeared
in recitals in Schnectady, Brook
lyn, and Riverside church in New
York and In Westfield, N. J.
Today . Miss Thielsen and her
mother leave for a sojourn at Sut-
tle Lake and In September she
will return to the east to con
tinue her music.

to Dance
As the first of a summer se
ries of Oregon State college af
fairs, Portland alumni and stu
dents are sponsoring a dance on
the Swan. Wednesday, July 24,
honoring high school graduates
who will enter the college this
fall as the class of 1939.
Arrangements have been made
under the direction of Dick
Brown, representing Portland al
umni, and Clarence White, gen
eral student chairman.
- Eddie Burke's orchestra will
play for the dancing which will
start at 8:30 p. m. with the boat
scheduled to leave the dock at the
foot of S. W. Alder street at 9
o'clock sharp.
