THE MUSIC FESTIVAL to be given in the armory next Fri day night promises. to be one t the most interesting post-Mu-ie Week events. ' Band numbers, glee clubs and a rhythm orchestra trom Richmond school point to a varied evening's entertainment. Cooperation of the theatres was a salient feature of Music Week. The splendid singing in "Naughty Marietta" at the Elsinore and the instrumental and vocal effects gained in "The Unfinished Sym phony" at the State point to a new trend in motion pictures. The talking screen will bring to the general public the best talent in the music world. The Tom Mix circus and the concert of the Preparatory or chestra had a bad conflict last Monday. There was Warren Downs, age 10. who went to the circus in the afternoon, then went to sleep to rest up for the con cert where he played 'cello. But he overslept, and when his moth er roused him he had to hustle oft to the armory without any sup per. Warren is so small he can almost hide behind his instru ment; but he plays very well, and had part la a string quartet at the concert. The Men's Glee club of Willam ette returns this weekend from a tour ot the northwest and will give a homecoming .concert tonight at the First Methodist church, with Hume Downs, young violinist, and Helen Benner as the assist ing artists.
