Swift, will read the solemn' vows which will be exchanged before an altar banked with white Easter lilies, white calla lilies an palms. Pre ceding the ceremony Miss Mar garet Simms will sing "Oh, Prom ise Me," accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Kenneth Dalton, who will also play the wedding marches. The bride, charmingly attired In ft modish gown of white satin made with bodice effect and train, will be given In 'marriage by her father. Her full-length veil of real lace, fashioned in poLe - bonnet style, will be held in place with a wreath of orange blossoms. She will wear long white mitts and carry an old-fashioned bridal boa Qo.et of lULse-of-the-Y&lley, pink rosebuds and orchids. - The matron of honor, Mrs. Gar len Simpson, will wear a floor length frock of fluffy white ruf fled net with white taffeta sash, poke-bonnet hat to match, white lace mitts and will carry a quaint filled nosegay of pink lavender eweetpeas and pink rosebuds. The bridesmaids. Miss Dorothy Bell and Miss Wilma Giese will wear similar all - white frocks with ' matching hats and nosegays. in. til,. Juvenile Neighbors Enjoy Egg Hunt The Juveniles of the Neighbors of Woodcraft had a Jolly good time, at the Easter party given Tuesday by Senior Guardian Mlna Olmsted. A short business meeting was held. Committees were appoint ed for the Mother's Day program which Is the next meeting. Games were played, and all Joined in on the Easter egg hunt. T, A . rt i . - ui7 iu nviueu ui vBpiil unit of the American Legion auxiliary will offer red paper pop pies on the streets to be worn in honor of the World war dead. The observance here will be part of the annual nation -wide ob servance of Poppy day dating which millions of Americans will pay tribute to the memory of the war dead by wearing memorial poppies. Poppy day activities will be di rected by a committee from the auxiliary headed by Mrs. William Taw, chairman. Other members of the committee are Mrs. Earl T. Andresen, Mrs. Ray Binegar and Mrs. Glenn Seeley. A large corps of volunteer workers will be or ganized to carry out the distribu tion of the flowers. The poppies which will be wofn here hare been ordered from Vet erans' hospital in Portland where they have been made by disabled World war veterans. The poppy making has provided employment for needy veterans through the winter and spring months, en abling them to help support them selves and families. Public re sponse on Poppy day will deter mine how soon and how extensive ly this work can be re-opened. la exchange for the popples the auxiliary women', will ask each person to make a contribution for the welfare of the war's living victims, the disabled veterans, the widows and the fatherless chil dren of veterans. This money will be used entirely in the welfare work of the Legion and auxiliary, the bulk of it la the work of the local post and unit. They were made specially for William Roberts, who served on the first board of Methodist bishops during the early days of Oregon. Another interesting relic of pio neer life is a stone pillow used by a young missionary, William Tay lor who, during the gold rush of '49 contracted a fever which dis- I tarbed his sleep because of ex treme heat la his head. Belle was found la the use of a marble slab which served to conduct the heat away from his head and thereby permitted him to contin ue .his work.
