now and stored in a cool place un

reheated for 30 minutes In a dou
ble boiler.

(Using Suet)
1 cups flour
teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
H teaspoon nutmeg
teaspoon cloTes
1 cup sugar
1 cup chopped raisins .
cup chopped currants
cup chopped candied orange
peel ,
4 cup chopped citron-
cup chopped candled cherries
- 1 cup bread crumbs
S eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon, soda
1 cup chopped beet suet
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup milk -
Mix Ingredients and pour into
two-pound molds, filling half full.
Steam 3 Vt hours. Serve warm.
Foamy Sauce
cup butter
3 cups confectioner's sugar
cup cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
Vi teaspoon lemon extract
teaspoon salt
3 eggs, beaten
Cream butter and sugar. Add
cream and heat in double boiler
until the mixture becomes very
creamy. Stir constantly. Add rest
of ingredients, mix well and serve
warm.
If desired a tablespoon of rum
flavoring can be added to sauce.
Steamed Carrot Pudding
(Delicious and inexpensive. )
1 cup grated raw potatoes
1 cup grated raw carrots
l'cup flour
1 cup raisins
cup sugar
1 1 teaspoon cinnamon
teaspoon cloves
Vt teaspoon nutmeg
teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
Mix ingredients and half
greased pudding mold. Cover
tightly and steam 3 hours. Serve
warm, cut in slices.
This pudding can be made dafs
prior to serving and then re
heated for 30 minutes in double
boiler.

handled at the legislative session.
A children's Christmas party will
also be- featured and a pot luck

livestock office and the sheriff's

Ben Harris of Silver Creek Falls.
Harris, haled before Judge Hay

high school, was taken to her
home at Portland Thursday morn
ing suffering from an ear abcess
with mastoid complications. Mrs,
Lee Alfred Is substituting for
Mlsa Ricks.
Mrs. E. Moore Neave, who has
been ill since Thanksgiving, was
able to leave the hospital the lat
ter part of this week and go to
her home at Junction City to
fully recover. Mlsa Cathaleene
Cuddy is substituting for Mrs.
Neave.
Calvin Storey, music teacher
In the Silverton schools, was call
ed to Doty, Wash., this week to
attend the funeral of his mother
there. Mrs. Knight is substituting
for Mr. Storey.

All Bills Today

day and turned over to the secre
tary of state, it was learned yes
terday at the executive offices
here. The bills must be signed or
vetoed by midnight today. Some
of the measures have already been
marked for veto, It is understood
Governor and Mrs. Meier will
leave this weekend for San Fran
cisco to spend the Christmas hol
idays.
