Sept. 12; When tha. hundreds ot boys and girls 6 1 n , n to classes in the three schools at Sllrerton Monday. September 18. they will find everything in excellent condition. for during the summer monies there has been painting, repair ing, cleaning, and in general plac ing the entire educational plant in first class order. While no major building con struction haa been the rule this summer, yet numerous small jobs have been completed as it is. the plan of the school board to keep it In as tine a condition as is pos sible with the amount of money available. The . outside woodwork of all three buildings has been painted The patnt was scaling and this was done as a protective measure. All class room floors have been Oiled and the halls and gymna sium hare been varnished. The old part of the Eugene Field building has been re-roofed, and was being completed early this week. In the Junior high school build ing the stairs have been repaired. The steps of these were worn out. The grounds and the inside and outside of the buildings hare been cleaned and every window has been washed. Superintendent Robert Goetr, who has been in his office dur ing the entire summer with the exception ot a ten day fishing trip with his young son, Don, is at the office again this week receiving parents, teachers and students, in an endeavor to assist them with their school troubles and plans. Mr, Goets said Monday that there would be from fifty to slxtyJ boys and girls who could not re turn to school because of the re? moral ot the busses.
