ULEBITE ArRORA, Sept. 7 The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs.S.A. Miller ot Aurora wag observed Saturday, September 2, when they -ere honored with an anniversary dinner at the Miller - residence. Both Mr. and Mrs. Miller are na tives of Elkhart, Indiana, where ne was born In. 1862 and she in jiiKi; in 1883, Sam Miller and Miriam Miller were married In Hubbard, Oregon. They have long len residents ot Aurora where Miller has been engaged In many successful business enterprises. Floral offerings and felicitations were receiea uuhuj tut? u?. The Will-Snyder company, has purchased the Aurora Meat mar ket from i-yie xergen ana wm ted in connection with the- Will- Snvder mercantile store. Yergen Is in charge of the market at the old location until an adjustment lias been made at the store.-. Silverton Boys Share in Prizes SILVERTON, Sept. 7. The Silverton Smith-Hughes boys are enjoying the fair particularly well this year as their winnings have been good. The total winnings for the local group ran to $48.30. Six boys of the department show ed, winning this sum. Winners In Tuesday's showings were Tom Miller.-showing in the open class, placed third with, his senior yearling Duroc Jersey sow; Harry Way placed fourth in open class with his senior Duroc Jer sey oilt. Each boy won $3. SO. Don Goetz, the son ot Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goetz, the former of Thorn is superintendent of Silrer- ton schools, won a total of f S.10 in the poultry department, win ning first, second and third with his young drakes; third with old drake; second with both young md old drake, and third with young drake. The team representing SilTer- ton in the father and son Judg ing contest Tuesday included Alex Lichty. Groter Lichty, Bill, Dunnigan, W. H. Dunnigan, San- ford Daris and W. E. DaTls, with Tom Miller and T. J. MUler act ios as alternates. This is the first year that the Silverton Smith-Hughes boys have ihown in open classes at the fair. . ' . Labor Day Calls Many on Trips MOLALLA, Sept, 7. Among out-of-town vacationers over the Labor day weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Boyd, who went to Diamond Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. H. I.
