C. requires that the plant be self-liquidating so that even its maintenance does not fall on the taxpayer. The cost of maintenance should not exceed 30 cents a month. Dr. P. A. Loar. city health offi cer, was chairman of the evening and introduced the speaker. Mr. Moulton was very high in his praise of the Silrerton park in which the meeting was held. He also prophesied that the sewage disposal i plant issue would carry by a big majority at Portland. Dedication Bridge will Be August 3 JEFFERSON. With the increased labor ex pended on the Southern Pacific railroad section going through West Salem and beyond, is no ted an increase in the freight go ing over the line.; For some time there has been very little freighting on the line, one short train daily, but now two long freights make dally trips and one this week contained over SO heavily loaded cars carrying wood, lumber and hog fuel as wen as other diversified loads.
