Max Snelgrore, la made by Anita SnelgroTe, defend ant in the dlTorce action brought by the former. Mrs. . Snelgrore filed her counter affidavit yester day in circuit court here, declar ing her husband stated "four and one-halt pages' of falsehoods 1b his original affidavit. She declares that she Is com petent to hare the custody of their six year old daughter but has been refused the child by her hus band and his relatives who forcib ly kept Mrs. Snelgrove, she as serts, from coming Into their house to see her daughter. She says her husband struck and beat her, did not support her and has conspired to keep her daughter in his home. Mrs. Snelgrove says her hus band's assertions that he is a regular church attendant are not true nd declares - that only oc casionally during her married life with him did he attend religous senrces. ,-A v She. alleges that she Is beauty operator but denies that she makes 20 a week as he as serted. Bearing of the case Involving the rites, eharges ahd practices of the: Pacific Telephone -4k Tele graph company, which -had been set for next Monday, has been postponed Indefinitely, C. ' M. Thomas, state utilities commis sioner, announced Thursday. The postponement was -neces sary because of the time consum ed in the hearing of the rates and practices of the Northwestern Electric company. The latter hear ing Is now in progress In Port land and probably will not be completed before late this week. Investigation . of the Pacific Telephone A Telegraph company has been under way for more than six months, and a large amount of data has been assembled by engineers employed by the utili ties : commission. Much of this data has to do with property, val uation for rate making purposes.
