Cattle were qnot ably steady to strong and in spots 25c higher for steers and 50c for cows and heifers. Strictly good steers, grain fed, sold at 5.75 top with next best grade 5.50 and bulk of desirable sorts 4.50-5.25; low grade was down to 2.50, but gen erally 3.00 and better. Hog receipts were 350a for tne week. Market showed an im proved demand with higher pricea In spots. Strictly choice lots of killers were considered 25 higher with feeders at least steady. Best light butchers moved generally Monday at 4.00, but a doable lot sold at 4.10; heavyweight butch ers were around 3.25-3.50; pack ing sows 2.75-3.00; killer pigs moved at 3.50 for top, but gener ally 3.25 with feeders 2.50-3.00 and bulk at S.75 and better. Sheep and lamb receipts were 2424 for the week. Trade in bet ter grade Iambs and mntton was steady to strong and active, but there was a noticeable lessening of demand for undergrade stuff In all Lines.
